My resourceful has its roots in my childhood, when my mom would thrift or make much of what we needed. Like the time she built an entire wall unit of shelving in our apartment out of fish crates she salvaged from the deli down the street. Or the time she bought fabric and sewed me a skirt I needed for band because the town we lived in didn’t have anything available.

These days, with all the time I spend in the garden or on a farm, I like to convert what’s available in a given season into something useful. Whether I’m harvesting wild plants for tea, making elderberry syrup or making candles and salve out of beeswax, these items sustain my family. They redirect our modern consumptive mindset, support our journey to overall health, and leave a positive impact on our planet.

Various topics – listed below – can be conducted in workshop format for your group or institution. I often lead these at a local farm, library or community garden. If you don’t see a topic, please feel free to inquire. Workshop pricing is on a sliding scale to make gathering accessible to everyone.
