I am the founder and creative force behind Caty’s Creations, a Connecticut-based business focused on sustainable cooking, local food education, and holistic wellness. After more than 20 years in the life sciences industry, I transitioned into the nonprofit sector to pursue my passion for food equity, community health, and sustainable agriculture.
In 2012, I joined Massaro Community Farm in Woodbridge, Connecticut, where I served as Executive Director for 11 years. At this nonprofit community farm, I helped expand access to fresh, locally grown vegetables, fruits, herbs, and honey while developing innovative farm-based education programs. My work centered on increasing equitable food access, supporting local agriculture, and connecting people to healthy, seasonal food.
During my tenure, I deepened my expertise in organic gardening, nutrition, beekeeping, and wildcrafting. I also created and led hands-on workshops and community programs focused on sustainable living, home gardening, and farm-to-table cooking—blending my professional experience with my family’s agricultural roots.
To further support my work, I have completed advanced training in plant-based cooking, herbalism, and wild foraging, and I hold a Master’s-level certificate from the Institute of Sustainable Nutrition.
In 2023, I stepped away from my leadership role at Massaro Community Farm to focus fully on Caty’s Creations. Today, I offer cooking classes centered on local, seasonal foods that promote healthy living and environmental sustainability. I also lead workshops on natural remedies, beekeeping, organic gardening, and wildcrafting, helping individuals and communities build practical skills for a healthier lifestyle and a more resilient food system.
