Gardening

I have been gardening organically for 40 years. Whether I’m tending my own perennial garden, cultivating an educational garden on a farm, or facilitating community gardens, I love to get my hands in the dirt!

Though not technically a Master Gardener, I’ve studied with the best: Organic farmers, permaculturists, landscape and flower designers. I follow organic methods, working to achieve a balance in nature and leave the soil more enriched than when I found it.

I’m happy to teach classes on seed saving, natural pest management and basic soil health. But I’d much rather you come out and join our cadre of community members tending communally operated gardens across the Lower Naugatuck Valley. We grow vegetables and herbs with the intent to share our harvest with any and everyone, but especially the food insecure.

For more information, email us for a garden leader near you. We have gardens in Shelton, Seymour, Oxford, Derby and Ansonia, CT, and are always welcoming new hands.
